Mill City Aikido has an active program of Youth Aikido. We teach the full range of Aikido techniques to youth who range in age from 7 to 17. Our program focuses on teaching the standard empty hand techniques (taijutsu) and includes some training involving traditional Aikido weapons: wooden practice sword (bokken) and short staff (jo).

You can join the program at any time during the year, and at any age from 7 to 17. Beginners of any age are always welcome, and at any time there are always a few new students in the class. The more senior students vividly remember being beginners themselves and are always ready to help out a less experienced student.

You can explore our program in several ways. The links to the left of this page will give you lots of information about our youth program, including many pictures.

There is no substitute for seeing or even experiencing an Aikido class -- and you can come observe any class. The youth classes meet on Tuesdays from 5:30pm to 6:30pm and on Saturdays from 11:00am to 12:00 noon, year round. You can also participate in a trial class for free after a parent or guardian signs a liability release. We hope to see you on the mat soon!
